Today, Krust, Sari & I went up to San Fran with their aunt & another family friend to see Wicked @ The Orpheum Theatre. It was so nice of Rosemary to take us.
The play was really cool. I knew very little about the story before going so it was really interesting to watch. The story, although along the lines of what I suspected, had a lot of interesting twists that I wasn’t expecting- making it a real treat to watch unfold. The music was pretty cool too. I was even able to sing along to a few- since they play some of the music in the commercial!
Also of note: One of the main characters was played by Patty Duke. As in: Played HELEN KELLER in that old movie & won an Oscar. I thought that was cool and I can’t believe the Brandt children haven’t seen it!!
The visuals of the stage were beautiful. It also helped that The Orpheum is GORGEOUS. I spent probably too much time staring at the ceiling. It was completely compelling.
Anyways, I love me some musicals. I probably don’t seem like the type- but I do. I’ve only been to three “big” plays- two of which were while vacationing in NYC. (Spring Awakening- :swoooon:) But, Wicked in San Francisco is a definite good time so, if you find yourself in need of something to do in SF- go!
Here’s a pic of Krust & I:
After our BART ride home, Sari, Scott & I ordered Amici’s and it was WONDERFULLL. YUM!
