Yeah, that’s right.
I have already pulled out ye’ ol’ baby name list from Hudson’s pregancy and gone over the list.
I am sad because I have since met children with names I thought I’d never hear and now have. It says alot about how cool their parents are- but makes it harder for me to use a name belonging to another child with a face & personality.I suppose I shouldn’t feel weird about loving a pretty rare name- I just don’t want to be stepping on toes and I guess the mom’s of every Ava and Emily on the block probably don’t feel bad that all their friends have kids with the same name- so why should I?
Well, I guess I wanted to be different- but apparently Hudson was only like #178 on last year’s Social Security list. He probably won’t have a Hudson in his class- but maybe in his school? Whatever, I am prepared, although sad, to admit my children are among a HUGE population. I am not so cool as to invent the world’s best name and my child is not so cool as to never meet another child with their name.
In fact: One of my very best friends in junior high & high school was ALSO named Emily, and I think our name was what originally got the conversation started.
Unless you are my Howli. She will probably never meet another. Which is awesome- If someone has met a Howli- chances are it’s the same girl, because it is just THAT rare a name.

That was #2 for a girl the first time around… my other top was Reagan. A family friend used Reagan about a week before Hudson was born. But, I must agree that Harper & Hudson sounds A.DOOR.EE.BLAY together. It’s OK, the list is long & my thought is that I’m having a boy, anyhow.

Yeah for sure. I already told Scott we are DEFINITELY finding out. If it’s a boy I don’t have to get anything except a car seat & crib…. if it’s a girl…. BRING ON THE CLOTHES!
