But, as many of you have already heard- there are two fraternal babies cooking away in the uterus.
I am so completely and utterly shocked and unprepared for this.
Apparently the odds are 1:3000. Plus, fraternal twins are fertilized on different occassions- which means there was some serious odds in these kids’ favors. I mean, we were taking MEASURES that this wouldn’t happen. But, it did- once-then apparently TWICE. So, the odds are even crazier.
I suppose we will be buying a lotto ticket tonight, I mean… let’s be serious. The only way we can afford this is if we win the lotto!
I’m due March 20th but the doctor said most twins make it to about 32 weeks- which would be January 25th- as in 5 days after Hudson turns 1.
I dunno even what to say beyond that. I’m just pretty much stumped.

Everything is going to amazing. Maybe, it’s hard to imagine now, and I can understand that. You have so many people behind you, ready to help. It’s going to be an adventure and a lot of work, but so worth it. I’m so happy and excited for you. And, jealous because I’ve always secretly wanted Twins. I’ve even looked up the odds and how to try to conceive them (apparently eating yams helps, I dunno). I’m a loon.

yeah i’m pretty shocked. sounds like you are too. it’s probably gonna take some getting used to, but you’re gonna do wonderfully!!! hudson is totally lucky to have you as a mommy
pros:
1. your 18-years mandated parenting will be spread out over 19 years instead of like 25 or something
2. you hate being pregnant and you will likely be pregnant less than the typical 40 weeks. yay!
3. they’re all about the same age so you can take them all to the same school later on aka way less stops in the morning. who knows, maybe they’ll all be into the same stuff too so driving to soccer practice will be a breeze!
4. maybe scott can get snipped after this and you don’t have to worry about anymore freak incidents!

Yes, I’m a closeted twins fanatic. I cried today, I was shaking.

Places do offer discounts for multiples, though it might not be the lotto.
Space and money will work out, One thing I did learn from you, is that you always find a way to get it taken care of, in terms of money. That’s not to say it doesn’t takes work, or planning.

I’m pretty clueless when it comes to twinsies. How do they know fraternal vs. Identical?
Since there are two can you double up the zofran dosage?
That may have been a dumb question.

Fraternal have two zygotes- two different aminotic sacs. Identical are monozygotic, rather they share the same amniotic sac. Indentical twins are when one egg splits into two and fraternal happens when two different eggs are fertilized separate. Basically, fraternal twins aren’t twins- they are just siblings from the same pregnancy.
