Hi, my kid has personal issues.

So today- well, yesterday, I noticed that Hudson is GRINDING his four little toofers together. He only has four & he is already trying to file them down. I goggled it for fear that I needed to get a dentist appointment lined up right away because clearly, teeth grinding means my kid is as stressed out as I am! But, apparently it is pretty normal for kids just getting teeth. I suppose it’s a foreign sensation.

Then tonight, and pretty much at every bath & diaper change for the last 2 months- he has taken to straight up FONDLING himself. Like, deep tissue. It looks painful and I always ask him to stop. I guess at 11 months old he doesn’t know yet that touching yourself is something best done when your mom is at least out of the room.

And finally- after tonight’s bath, I gave him a nice warm bottle and his blanket and cuddled up with him in our bed. He thanked me by literally PUKING on me. I mean, he never spit up or anything really as a little baby. probably 10 times in his entire life. And this, was much like spit up in it’s amount and consistency but definitely classified as puke seeing as it smelled like real life adult vom & I had to change his cozy jammies because the smell was making ME want to puke.

I have basically witnessed a lot today. The sound of tooth grinding sending me up a WALL because it sounds so horrible- having to literally pull my kids hands off his peen & then being puked on. It’s only 9 PM and I think it’s bedtime.

Lol. Mj has been “exploring himself” for about a month now. The first few times we thought it was hilarious. Now, still kinda funny but kinda…uncomfortable I suppose.

    Boys are funny!

It’s still funny- but honestly I’m afraid he will hurt himself. He is kinda rough. Like, Scott literally cringes.

    omg. deep tissue? i died.

the teeth grinding…ugh! Harper did this when her top ones finally came in. she stopped pretty quickly, but not before i had many days of shivering and yelling “arhhhhh!” as she did it. like nails on a chalkboard.

i have the heebie jeebies just typing about it.

Mercer grinds his teeth terribly! Like, it disgust me to great lengths that he can wake me up out of a dead sleep with his teeth grinding. I made him wear a night guard for like two years and now he won’t do it anymore. Ever look at his teeth? They are like super duper FLAT, no ridges! I always fear that a tooth will break off and he will choke and die. Irrational fear….maybe?

It may be in-fact the only noise that has ever truly bothered me. I literally shriek when he does it. It is GROSS. Hopefully he will get over it when he realizes the teeth are here to stay.

And Mandy: I may be understating the deep tissue. I mean, it’s borderline punishment.

OMG when Piper started with the teeth grinding I would literally beg her to stop, in tears. Most of the time I just had to leave the room until Topher could distract her and she’s stop.

PS “deep tissue” made me spit some coffee.

  7. holy crap, em! i was drinking coffee while i read this, and nearly ruined my laptop! “deep tissue”? aack! you are hysterical, lady.

you know, poppy’s new fave trick is to reach down during diaper changes/naptime and grab a hand full of front parts. she also claws/scratches at her tower tummy – sometimes she even leaves marks! i tell her to be gentle and take her hand away/give her a toy, but she’s pretty persistent! so strange how kiddos do things that make us cringe, or seem like they would hurt (teeth grinding? really? how come no one talks about that shit in the baby books?!) hang in there, dear! and at least know that despite your discomfort, you made THIS lady’s morning a whole lot funnier!

    xo.

I keep coming back to this post cause it keeps making me laugh… And Emily(bilbrey) They don’t talk about a LOT OF SHIT in those stupid baby books. I’ve learned more from exploring mommy blogs than the stupid books!!!

teeth grinding…gives me the willies…i will not be aable to handle this…i am sure of it!
i actually do not own a baby book of any kind…for that reason kristi!
if i remember correctly from my nannying days…the “fondling” will be around for a WHILE…boys are far worse than girls!

Bresho grinds his teeth as well! I’m glad it is nothing serious! I was afraid I might have to make an appointment with Dr. Google ;)

  11. Emmie B says:

    Dr. Google knows all.

you should look up the comedian jo koy. he has a bit on how his son ALWAYS fondles himself. calls it his “ting ting”. it’s entertaining and maybe will make you feel a little better :)
