Fright Night twenty-ten

January 5th, 2010

Let’s start with my kid still sleeps in my room. There is a combination of reasons for that and at the top of that list is the fact that we bought a ONE BEDROOM and have been unable to find time or money to add a bedroom. Luckily, my cousin John has been working diligently on that and by the time the twins arrived it should no longer be an issue.

That said- the main problem here is that HUDSON STILL SLEEPS IN OUR ROOM. And more often than not HE SLEEPS IN OUR BED for half the night or more. That’s because I am an insomniac. And even though Hudson goes to bed at a descent hour- I find myself up watching TV and tapping away on my laptop until 1 or 2 most mornings. And he might be the lightest sleeper EVER. Our toilet in our master bathroom is a bit loose (see previous post about husbands) and I am quickly graduating from just a fat chick- to a fat chick pregnant with twins to a fat chick pregnant with twins who should probably start watching her food consumption before the doctor says something! So, every time I decide to pee in the middle of the night I have to be super careful that when my giant ass hits the toilet the ittle “dink” noise it makes doesn’t wake baby. And we are talking 15 times a night, folks. Because HELLO! I’m pregnant and pee a LOT.

Last night I was super successful. Scott was not. He got up just once and he woke up Hudson.

Fine. It happens almost nightly. He wakes up and stands up in his crib screaming and waving at me so I am aware that he is up and needs my attention. I walk the literal 5 feet to the crib, more than half asleep and carry him back to our bed. At this point he falls asleep and stays that way till morning. EXCEPT LAST NIGHT.

Once he got into our bed I discovered he smelled BAD. Like there was no possible way he didn’t crap his pants. I couldn’t sleep from the smell & he wasn’t sleeping because really- who wants to sleep with turds all up in your butt?!

I changed him, he had a meltdown from being cold at 4 AM. Scream crying ensued. I was awake. Scott was even awake at this point HELPING to change the diaper. It was a miracle!

So, anyhow, when we finally got him down it was all good- but I woke up soooooooo tired this morning and am really NOT looking forward to night wakes with the twins. Hudson hasn’t night-pooped in MONTHS. Like literally- once he started sleeping through the night- he got wise and stopped crapping while sleeping. I hope he has now reminded himself how much night poop sucks for every one involved and that he will hold it in in the future.

YAY!
