My Mom & Step-Dad took Hudson home Saturday night after his birthday party and kept him until last night around 6, when they dropped him off.
He had been taking a step or two over the last few weeks and on Friday, the day before the party we got a total count of 15 steps.
At his birthday party, he was walking a bit but nothing insane.
BUT LAST NIGHT!? I mean- this is proof of how quickly this all happens. My mom brought him back & the kid ONLY WALKS. Like, would not sit. On his feet walking circles around the kitchen and dining room for like 2 hours straight. HOME BOY WALKS. It’s not like I was saying before. It’s like- A MASTERED SKILL. Crazy.
He also said “hi” to us when he came home and called the dog something that I thought resembled Blue and the cat something that resembled Kiki. The way things are going I’m afraid he’s gonna wake up from his nap and tell me a story.
It’s both impressive & scary how quickly children advance.
Add to this the fact that I am like legitimately sicker than I’ve been in a long time and experiencing some sort of narcolepsy and the house is a fucking MESSSSSS because I was throwing a party Saturday, Recouping Sunday & came down with a serious head cold Monday. I wish I would have cleaned Sunday when I felt good- because I need to make this place a bit more walking-friendly!
OH & UMMMMM- Tomorrow, he is ONE YEARS OLD!!!

Yay for Hudson! That is so exciting but I can imagine a little bitter sweet on your end. I guess that’s just the way it goes with each milestone, or at least that’s what I am starting to figure out. Love the blog lady.

How exciting! I’ll tell my girlfriend whose kid has been on the verge of walking for what seems like FOREVER, but hasn’t got the nerve to let go of the couch yet

no matter how many kids’ parents start going on about how their kid is doing something new, i never cease to be impressed. i can’t believe he’s walking already! and the way you described him just strolling into the house and saying hi – so precious! kids are little mini-miracles. i love them
