so sorry to hear you’re having a rough one, darling. hang in there! those kiddos will be here before you even know it, and after that you can be DONE if you want!!
Kirsten: Yeah, everything is cool. Just had a rough doctors appointment yesterday- got home and was pretty depressed. It’s sometimes hard to articulate to friends and family what you are feeling when you are pregnant because no one has the SAME experience. It’s different for everyone, ya know? I’m at 32 weeks and they are planning to schedule my section for the 1st week in March- but until then I have to work on my iron content, as I am apparently really anemic and my doctor (who is sometimes a bit too blunt, even though I like her lots) says if I don’t get my numbers up I’ll likely need a transfusion or something during surgery. I’m on high iron pills now and went to the store and bought pretty much everything that the web says is high in iron. I may never poop again but I am hoping I won’t bleed out or have a heart attack or something awesome during surgery. I love that just when I’m comfortable with something they add more risks!
Emily: I AM DONE! lol. Part of my doctor appointment was discussing (yet again) my desire to never do this again!!! But, I still want to be able to carry babies. Just not my own. Apparently that’s totally possible. Which is awesome. I’d always like the option of helping someone out if it was needed. Thank you so much for the support!!
i feel like you’re so straight forward with everything that this is probably the perfect doctor for you…glad you found her! that sucks though about anemia – like you’re already doing the best you can, your body just needs to be more cooperative. lame.
i’m totally confident that you won’t, but if you do need a transfusion i would be happy to donate on your behalf. assuming you’re A or AB
lol.I think Kaiser must have reserves and I think I have a pretty normal blood type. But who knows. With all these odds not in my favor I’m probably some fucked up blood type that they can’t get. lol
Just checked on this and LUCKILY I am O+ which is the most common blood type in the country, and in the world in fact. So, I should be good. Now, the odds of the blood they give me being AIDs blood or something? That is up for debate!
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time lately!
I’m sure everything will be ok. You are a strong mamma! I had the same thing and had to rush to the ER a couple of times during the last few months of my pregnancy. I took some realy hard-core iron pills and ate meat like every day. Everything went well and I am sure it will be the same for you! xxxo
