This is the first day of my life.

Everytime I am feeling down- I do what my sis-in-law Krust & I used to call “a tour” in which you listen to about a million songs- but once you hear the part that totally speaks to you- you go to the next song.

It’s weird and it may be my only sign of ADD, but I was feeling sad this morning and I’ll be damned if I don’t feel better!

Every song reminds you of that one moment when that song really really mattered to you…

Falling in and out of love. New lives and deaths. How someone looked the night you danced to a certain song or what you did or who you were with. The lyrics that played when you made eye contact with someone who would change your life. What you wore. How you felt in the moment. Music is the best way for me to remember so many important memories in my life, as well as my hopes and dreams for the future.

I can remember crying when certain musicians have died over my 26 (almost 27) years. Granted, I was probably a lot younger- but it’s so easy to idolize these people who become the soundtrack to your existence. I only wish I had the talent to inspire people like that.

So, that being said- I am feeling much better & will leave you with the song I’m listening to right now.

Your Gentleman Caller- Cursive.

My very favorite part of the song goes like this:

“What ever you need to make you feel- like you’ve been the one behind the wheel, the sunrise is just over that hill- the worst is over. What ever I said to make you think that love’s the religion of the weak, this morning we loved like weaklings- the worst is over.”

A – love your taste in music!
B – LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVE the idea of “The Tour”, I am SO going to try this. Music is one of the most important things EVER!
C – I need to make my labour playlist, but the hubs is worried I’ll later hate “our” songs ha.
D – Our “wedding playlist” was 697 songs, none that have ever been on the radio. I feel proud of that, so I thought I’d share :D

Isn’t it amazing how certain songs bring us back to certain places/certain people in our lives? It really is amazing how much music stays with us. Great post!!
