This is the first day of my life.

FINISHED PRODUCT:

February 28th, 2010

So here it is kids. I’m pretty proud of our hard work. JUST IN TIME for the arrival of T&S:

Sorry- I know it’s an overwhelming amount of pictures, but it was actually hard to narrow it down. I am so in love with this space I cannot even tell you. The rest of the house be damned. I will be hanging out HERE. Now, with Hudson at my Mom’s until tomorrow night I will work downstairs tomorrow & Tuesday morning I have the cleaning ladies coming to deep clean and make stuff all purrrty.

I dunno what I can tell you about the nursery- but most of it was pretty DIY, so if you have questions about furniture, features or even toys- let me know! I’d love to share.

It’s been a long time coming & I definitely need to thank John Bo, the hubster, my sister-in-laws, Aunt Sharon & Uncle Mike, my friends- everyone who came over and helped my handicap ass get this DONE. Not a moment too soon. I love you guys copious amounts.

PS: All of the pics can be enlarged twice to see detail! :)

Suzanne: they are the Ikea expedit shelving. It really helped me get my work stuff & toys organized while still looking good! Can’t beat that for $150! I heart Ikea.

Terri it is cork board covered in fabric from Ikea. Bought the squares for 5 dollars (for 4) at Staples and the fabric was 5.99 a yard. Krust covered them and then we nailed them up. I loved the fabric and wanted to find a way to use it.

Terri: TJ Maxx Homegoods is the shiz. Those frames were all bought that way for around $5-$10. They have pretty much every color imaginable. Also- the throw pillows on the futon were $15.00 for the set of two @ Homegoods. Best. Store. Ever.

Marrrrrioooo: Squidoo is so awesome that it makes me sad when Hudson touches him because I’m afraid something will happen to him! That’s kinda sad- but it’s true.

Hey did you buy your bamboo plant that tall or has it grown that tall over time? I have one that I’ve had for almost two years and it hasn’t grown what-so-ever. Do you just water it or do you”feed” it anything?

    [Reply]

  24. Emmie B

That Bamboo was purchased at about 8” tall per stalk & it’s probably about 3′ tall now. I just put the stalks in river rocks in a vase. Fill the vase with water. Never change the water or clean the rocks. Just add more water every week or when I notice it getting low. It needs a ton of light. The root balls on my two bamboo arrangements are HUGE.

how strange!!! I wonder why mine hasn’t grown at all. I’m going to ikea this weekend to buy some new ones. I think I got this one from walmart. Stupid gross walmart!

PS you should submit these pics to http://iheartbaby.tumblr.com/page/4

I have a set from IKEA that started at about 3-4” tall. I got them when I lived in San Mateo circa 6 or 7 years ago and now they are a few feet tall too. Ikea has pretty healthy Bamboo. Or next time you are in town, San Francisco has a flower wholesale mart that is amazing. I got the bamboo in the playroom there back about a month before Scott and I got married- so almost 5 years ago. Both plants are still going amazing.

Melissa: the tree is hand painted. The frames are from TJ maxx and the actual room with the cribs is only about 10×8. The loft was
my office before but I had to give it up for the kids! :)
