    b. It was so fun to sit and listen to you, it felt like I was having a conversation with a friend. :)
    c. To answer a question you asked on my blog awhile ago (but I didn’t answer it there because some of my students read my blog and I don’t want to be talking about my boobs if they’re reading!)…no, I did not breastfeed M&L. I wanted to, but when they were in the NICU for a week and a half, Lila had a gavage tube so all of her feedings went through her nose down to her belly. So, I started pumping. Mary had to be bottle fed because one of the requirements for leaving the NICU was that her feedings were at 30 mL every 3 hours, minimum, so we had to measure each feeding and then weigh her wet diapers to make sure that she was eating and peeing enough. I still wanted to try, so right before the girls were released and it was determined that they were eating enough and their digestive systems were working properly, the nurses in the NICU helped me but it hurt SO BAD. I think part of he problem was that I had been pumping with the hospital grade pump (ouch!) every 3 hours around the clock for 30 minutes, so I was so sore by that point it hurt to even let the water in the shower touch my skin. Plus, I was so exhausted and emotional at that point, I kind of gave up. Looking back, I wish I had breastfed, but I can’t change the past, you know? I will definitely try to with #3 though, in about 4 years. So, I can’t really imagine your exhaustion level right now. I was pumping in the night, but my husband was getting up with me to feed the girls. Bottle feeding took about 30 minutes at first, because they were so tiny and not very strong, and Lila had to be burped every 5 mL or so because if you waited until the end she’d puke all her bottle up. But after a month or two it got quicker and quicker, and around the one month mark I perfected the “double bottle feeding” set up with two boppies on the couch.

Whew. Long comment! I hope things are going well, that you’re getting some sleep, and that Hudson is enjoying big-brother-hood!
