Oh, then there was the time I left Colin at the piano teacher’s house. The boys had lessons, one after the other. For a while, Colin had an art class during one of his brother’s lessons. I’m in the van, looking in the rear view, thinking, “Just seems wrong, seems like I’m missing SOMETHING. Kevin’s at piano, Colin’s at art.” “ART ENDED LAST MONTH” Colin had gotten out at the piano teacher’s house to use the bathroom, and I had left while he was inside. I went back and her husband was having milk and graham crackers with him in the kitchen.

Moral of story–you are going to have your own GMIPH, over and over again. You are still an awesome mom.

PS: RE: Great Moments In Parenting History–I left Colin in his rocky car seat on a picnic table (I was just getting used to 3,) and we ALL left Nelson in the car, at 3 months old, in Sweden. We’re looking at each other (the 3 grown ups,) and thinking, “Why did we think we couldn’t all come inside to use the loo? I don’t know; can’t imagine; OH SHITFUCKHOLYMOTHER.” Epic.

Bad sister? Replace “Bad” with “Busy”.

A friend of mine lives very close to Manchester, England (a tour stop later this week) and when I told him that Andrew would be close to his neighborhood, he told me that he was a fan of their record label, Big Scary Monsters Recording Company because, and these are his words, they “present some rather good music …”

Well, the Brits have never been accused of overly demonstrative so this is high praise indeed.

And, just so you know, it has been my experience that most Mums (when in Rome … or, more aptly in this case, in the UK) are far too tough on themselves. Motherhood is the toughest and most important job in the world. I certainly couldn’t do it as well as any of the Mums in my life.

I tried to be hip enough…but it’s so not my thing They are cute though and my guess is that your bro is the second from the left? He has your eyes & eyebrows.

I have a little bro and I don’t see him very often either…right now he is in school only two hours away…but he is doing rotations all over the west coast next year and I think he will probably end up there for good!
