This is the first day of my life.

Father’s Day Festivities.

June 21st, 2010

Today started out kinda different from my normal days. I mean- I went to bed at about 4:30AM. So, when my alarm on my phone entitled “go get Daddy some Starbucks!” went off at 7:30AM? Yeah I ignored the shit outta that alarm. But when Sawyer woke up at 7:30 instead of her usual 8:30AMish? I had to get up. That’s right friends. I got 3 hours of sleep. And I am not bragging here- but I have NEVER gotten only 3 hours of sleep since before I had kids. My kids are SLEEPERSSSS. Maybe the first week home they were giving me 5 hour stretches. But since then I get 8+ hours daily.

And while last night’s lack of sleep was 100% my fault because I was up till two shooting the shit on the patio with my friends and then spent two+ hours on the computer… Let’s just say the crafting of this post is the only thing keeping me from getting seriously narcoleptic over here. And while I cannot WAIT till bedtime, the twins last feeding is at midnight. So, I have 15 minutes to go! Tonight- for the first time in a LONG TIME- I plan to be asleep by 1:00.

So- anyways- about our Father’s Day. When Hudson woke up, we brought in Scott’s cards and gifts to him in bed. I got him a picnic basket for our picnic today & hopefully many picnics to come. The kids gave him a card, which Hudson colored HIMSELF and they gave him gift cards for the Playstation Network and iTunes.

Then we goofed around a bit before getting ready for our big day out!

I love this video because DUHHH it’s Father’s Day & my two oldest boys just freaking LOVE each other.

Luckily, my Mom is a saint & went to Starbucks for us. My Step-Dad & Mom came over with the ‘bucks and we all headed to FILOLI. (My favorite place in case you didn’t know!) Filoli is awesome because from week to week it is completely different. I love that every time I go it’s like visiting something new.

As always we had a fantastic time. Filoli is such a fun spot of meandering through beautiful scenery and not even noticing you’ve walked probably a few miles. I love going with my family. Then we headed to a park a few cities over from my house. The park was adorable and we had a lovely picnic under a big shady tree.

They had a great toddler park & Hudson discovered that he can now do the slides all by himself!! What a big boy!

We were SOOOOOO freaking pooped when we got home. So pooped that we weren’t able to make it over to the family’s house for a Father’s Day BBQ. My Mom took Hudson home with her so I can get some work done tomorrow while the twins sleep! I hope I can catch my ass up!!

Hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day!!

Yes. They hang out in the playpen a lot when we cannot hold them because with a crazy toddler running around throwing things and two dogs and a cat who have no regard for what they are stepping on it seems much safer to keep them in the play pen!

Sounds a bit like our morning {save for the awesome garden trip}. Nolan and I snuck into our room with cards for Matt, then we played for a bit, then we went to the park and out for lunch :)

Hudson laughs almost like Nolan!!! lmfao. I love that he runs out at Scott lmfao.

Yikes! I so remember those days. I have all three b/g twins and the singleton on the same nap now. But my age gap is twice yours. So I think I had it easier in some ways. And you are so very ambitious!

I dunno about ambitious. PS: Andie was one of our top girls names!! LOVE IT. In fact, we plan to get to use it someday!!
