I had kind of a crazy weekend. We never have weekends quite so jam packed. But I gotta say- I enjoyed it a lot.
Friday night I GOT MY EYEBROWS WAXED for the first time since before the twins were born. You’ve seen my daughter, right? Yeah- she inherited her mother’s SCHWEET unibrow. Poor girl. When I was kid- I was like Madonna’s daughter status in the eyebrow department. And now? Just as bad. So- after my eyebrow waxing, I asked the hubs if I could go over to Lisa’s house since she was having people over & then going out for Harley’s birthday. He of course said yes & I told him I’d be home before Hudson went to bed. Except I came home closer to midnight. It was really nice to get out and have dinner with grown-ups.

Saturday was a big day for us! Saturday morning I woke up bright & early with Hudson so we could get ready to go to Filoli & have our very first in-real-life encounter of the internet kind. Yup. I met a twitter friend! Eileen (@bringupbee) & her gorgeous daughter Bronwyn met us there along with her super sweet husband & mother-in-law. They were super sweet & I had a wonderful time meandering through the gardens chatting with them. Hudson was unusually quiet. I think it’s the teething.
I ran home around 12 to start getting ready for the wedding we attended Saturday night. Good thing I got there when I did because not only was my mom there waiting to pick up Hudson but my husband informed me his outfit “was missing.” So, Scott, Krust, my Mom & I frantically searched for this very nice outfit- only to locate it IN THE GARAGE in a bag covered in overspray from when I painted the rocking chair in the nursery. I spent a while calling around trying to find a one-hour cleaners at 2 on a Saturday. And guess what? Calling a business straight up ONE HOUR CLEANER apparently doesn’t mean they actually offer the service because everyplace I found didn’t do 1-hour on Saturdays. Greattttt. Thankfully, my Mom & sister-in-law are quick thinkers and they washed his clothes in the washing machine. Krust also ironed his outfit once it was clean. Because you guys? I don’t know HOW TO IRON!! Wife fail.
My mom had left with Hudson by this time, and Scott had taken the twins over to his aunts while I got ready. I am LUCKY to have serious help getting ready for things like these, because I am seriously challenged when it comes to getting prettied up. So one of my BFFs Stephanie came over and did my hair.

I got the inspiration from a picture she had taken of her own hair a while ago & thought it would go great with my chiffon skirt handcrafted by Krust. Anyways- here are a few of Scott & I getting ready to leave for the wedding. Krust took some prom status pics of us. Kind of hilarious but LOOK AT THAT SKIRT!!! My sister-in-law? Yeah, she is ONE CRAFTY BITCH. Aside from the fact that she completely rebuilt the skirt in my living room at roughly midnight on Thursday night. I love that girl. LOVE HER.

Let’s revisit this: my sister-in-law MADE THAT SKIRT. From my head. I told her what I wanted & she did it. And it worked. AMAZING. Also? MY HAIR!?! It’s almost to my butt. My Steph twisted that shit up into this beautiful updo. It’s like I have elves. Seriously gorgeous, generous, amazing elves. Thanks girls!

And my husband? He is just damn adorable. Seriously? And can I tell you? When he dresses like this? I cannot even handle it. SO SEXY. Plus, that watch of his doesn’t hurt either. Every time he busts it out I’m like “My husband has the most amazing taste EVER!” and I swoon. My friend Lisa told him he looked like a porn star which was hilarious. Especially since he’d be about the best looking male porn star I’ve ever seen.
Here is a few from the wedding. They had a candy bar & gave the guys cigars. It was a really sweet wedding. We know the groom. My hubs went to high school with him & I have known him since junior high when he went to school with a childhood friend of mine. His dad gave just about the sweetest speech I could have imagined. Scott & I look up a lot to his parents. They have been together a long time & have a similar situation with a daughter & then twin boys just over a year later. We love that they are still so obviously in love. Brett & Nichole- Congrats!

I am pretty sure I should split this up- because I have a shit ton more pictures & you guys are probably getting overwhelmed already! So, see you on the flipside.

Seriously, she made that skirt? I could never in a million years make something like that or ever find the patience to complete it. She's good! Your hair looks amazing and it sounds like the wedding was a blast. It's got to feel so good to get out and do grownup things. We just moved here and have no friends yet (uh, pathetic!!) so I'm always in baby-talk mode. Yuk.

We came up with it on like Tuesday on her lunch break. She worked on it Tuesday & Wednesday after work and then Thursday she had to completely redo it because it was too big. She is frankly the craftiest girl I know. Sewing chiffon is no easy feat.
And YES grown-up time is so nice. I appreciate it so much more now.
And totally NOT pathetic. We have a bunch of friends here but only because we have both lived in the same town ALL. OUR. LIVES.

1. Krust really is amazing. In general- not just for this skirt.
2. Thank you. The camera was cooperating nicely. For all these pictures that came out decent there are at least a million horrible double chin stupid faced ones, though. Strength in numbers. It helped my chances.
3. I know right?! Sometimes, I can't take it.

Don't mean to add to the echo chamber but you guys are a good looking couple and that skirt RULES. And you're not the only one who can't iron. My version of ironing is to hang up stuff in the bathroom while running a hot shower. In the eyes of my English MIL this is like, a mortal sin. I don't know why but Englishwomen are obsessed with ironing. Thank god my English husband doesn't care about wrinkles.
