-Head to the toy store to play in the play area & let baby brother & sister buy you stuff.

-Go to play at Coyote Point with Dad, Mom, Aunt &  siblings.

-Have lunch at Jeffrey’s.

-Buy a shitton of balloons.

-Decorate the entire house YGG style.

-Order pizza.

-Have pizza, cupcakes & open presents with parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts.

-Pass out an hour after bedtime with no complaints.

Sunday we caved pumpkins as a family. My father-in-law sat on the couch watching football & watching Tru & Sawyer so Hudson, Scott, Sarah, Krust & I could carve pumpkins! And that? We did! They came out so fun!

I made Wubzy for Hudson. I downloaded pumpkin patterns from Nick Jr, but I didn’t have the patience for a stencil so I just freehanded it. Scott did Brobee, Sarah made Milificent & Krust, the bride of Frankenstein. Hudson’s pumpkin has a cute “B” carved into it.

He had SO much fun & now spend much of the day begging to go see ‘WubzyBrobeeoutside.” Adorable.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Also, Thanks to my friend, Teresa who came over with her identical twin girls last week for a play date. It was a short visit but so fun. She was so sweet to bring a book for Hudson. And he LOVES it. Like, I’ve read the story like at least 5 times in the last 24 hours. Thank you, mama! Can’t wait to do it again!!

Our foods this year are cherry tomato, beefsteak tomato, chives, parsley, basil, cilantro, jalapeno, Avocado, rosemary, zucchini, mint.
And other flowers we have growing but haven’t bloomed/already bloomed: Hydrangeas, roses, ranunculas, jasmine, Gerber daisies, a few things that I have no idea what they are called.

I love gardening. LOVE IT. Happy summer.

Love this WONDERFUL California weather, right? Geeze- it’s been hell outside. And inside? Yeah, I’m locked up with 3 babies so I’m glad you’ve stopped by! (All pictures are clickable to enlarge!)

In our entry hall you’ll find this:

Right next to the front door. I’ve done a whole post on this framed poster- but we love to share our love for each other by writing done reasons on this board.

This is my kitchen. It’s a little galley style & sucks because it has very little cabinet space & I have more kitchen gear & gadgets then a French restaurant. I worked at a culinary supply store for a few years and because we could charge “on account” I never got a paycheck. I basically spent all of my 40 hour a week paycheck on all the nicest kitchenwares I could find. My chinois has no where to live. And my cast iron fondue pot? Yeah, it’s in the attic- with my baking dishes. I have a rack set up with all my kitchen stuff in the ATTIC PEOPLE. I really do go upstairs to get kitchen items. Anyways- so yeah. That’s the kitchen. That ugly scenic tile? Yeah, one of the main #1 things I freaking HATE about my house. The scenic tiles make me want to puke every time I see them. Too bad after 3 years we haven’t done shit to fix them. GOD! They are ugly.

More kitchen stuff. That’s about a forth of my crazy knife collection. I am OBSESSED with culinary knives. It’s a serious problem. Those are the ones that aren’t too nice to use. & just because it was cute- my husband’s favorite organic wine & a box of Sprinkles cupcakes. YUM!!

On to our dining room:

I love our Modern Asian feel throughout the main living area. It makes me feel super calm & I love not having clutter. We have very little on our walls.

A few things I LOVE in our dining room? My giant (as in taller than me) money tree that I’ve had since before I got married. It THRIVES in our house because of all the light. It just keeps growing!! And that picture? Yeah, that’s my Horsie in a Jar. I got that print at Indie Mart SF last year on my first ever outing without Hudson. Scott spent the day with him while I went out with my girlfriends. That print makes me smile all the time!

As you can see we have a very open modern floorplan. I love it because it is the suburban version of a city loft. If I could live anywhere it would be in an industrial space or an Eichler. Plus, this way I can still see water, have a target nearby & have plenty of parking.

Ok- what’s next?!

Well, I guess here is the few of the living room from the dining room. And my china cabinet.

And here? It’s my coffee table that now serves as a HUGE side table because we thought it would be beter to give the coffee table’s home up in exchange for more playroom for Hudson.

If you look out that window, you get to see one of the main selling points of my little house:

Two words: WATER. VIEW.

This is one of the only cluttered spots in my house. I decided that rather than having frames spread all over the house, I’d use this nook as the family wall. We have our favorite pictures framed and all crammed together in a mosaic of memories. I love this wall. I only wish I could fit more frames!!

Here’s a sneak peek at one of my gardens. This is our side patio. It’s very zen, with a waterfall & 99% of the plants being green & without flowers. Budda figurines abound.

I’m gonna save you the ugliness of our very basic 1/2 bath & laundry room. But, I do have these posters from a more punk rock era of my life hanging in the 1/2 bath:

We also have this little wooden art piece I got at the MAKE fair last year. LOVE IT! The girl & her little gas mask are awesome.

OK- onto the last room in this tour- our bedroom. Right now, it also houses the twins in a pack n’ play. I’m crossing my fingers that they will be upstairs with their brother in the next month or so.

And through this window we have a HUGE patio area that is about as big as our living room. It’s great- but of course you’ll have to see that during the garden party in May.

And now? The BANE OF MY HOUSING EXISTENCE. I said I hated the tile in my kitchen. That’s #2 on my most hated list. This bathroom? Holy crap. I HATE IT WITH SUCH PASSION. I cannot even express. SO. NOT. MY. STYLE.

SUPPLIES (Things you’ll need):

• Felt.
1 sheet tan, 1 sheet beige, 1 sheet brown, 1 sheet red, 1 sheet cheese orange, 1 sheet dark green, 1 sheet light green (All colors here available at Joann Fabrics and Craft stores)
• Fabric Sheers/scissors
• Sewing machine. Threaded with white thread
• Ball point pen
• 2 round objects to trace. 1 about 4″-5” wide, and another about an inch wider. (I used a drinking glass and a bowl)
• Notepad and pencil.
• Stuffing (not pictured)
• Embroidery thread in beige, and brown.
• Pins
• 10. 1 large hand sewing needle for the embroidery thread.

LETTUCE: Start by drawing a lettuce leaf about 5” high on a blank sheet of paper. If you choose to, you could print an image of one to trace or cut out. Once you have a shape your happy with, cut it out.

Pin the cut out shape to one of the green pieces of felt, and cut along the edges, like a sewing pattern.

Once you have your leaf cut out, stitch a little branch pattern up the center. (this is not totally necessary, it just adds a little somethin’ somethin’ to it), and really it’s a lot easier than it looks.

Just start with your leaf upside down at the base, and start sewing. Take your foot of the pedal at each bump to stop the machine and use your hands to turn the leaf. Keep going all the way back around to the base.

Repeat with a lighter or darker green (also optional, one leaf is plenty, I just like the different colors) they should end up looking something like this:

CHEESE: Super easy. Cut out to even size squares.

Place squares together and sew all the way around at the edges.

TOMATO SLICE: Trace your smaller round object on a sheet of red felt. Cut out the circle you traced. You can choose to add some stitching to make it look a more like a tomato slice, or leave it blank.

BURGER PATTY: Trace your larger round object on the dark brown felt 2 times. And cut out both pieces.

Put both circles together and stitch around at the edges leave an inch opening.

Turn the sewn together pieces inside out (or right side in?) as shown. Fill with stuffing, and use some brown thread and a hand sewing needle to stitch the opening shut.

Inside part of HAMBURGER BUNS: Trace your larger round object on the beige felt 2 times. And cut out both pieces. Set aside.

Outside part of HAMBURGER BUNS: Trace your larger round object on the tan felt 2 times. And cut out both pieces. With one piece, use the beige embroidery thread to stitch on little sesame seeds.

Place together with one beige circle and stitch around at the edges leave an inch opening. Stuff lightly, and continue to stitch closed with the machine. Repeat (minus the sesame seeds) with the remaining two circles of beige and tan felt for the bottom part of the bun.

Put it all together and it should look something like this:

In much much more important news, we are making strides in our playroom/nursery & tonight I folded all the baby clothes and made a pile of stuff that is new and needs washing. I probably have about 10 hours of work still but that’s ok. We are getting there with not a moment to spare.

Yesterday, my husband’s aunt took me out for a MUCH NEEDED mani/pedi & it was wonderful! Except- as they were working on mah toesies I saw the truth! I have SAUSAGE FEET/ANKLES. Holy moly, kids. My legs are huge. I am hoping that is just from all the crap I eat, but who knows. I’ve been plagued with a shitstorm of issues this time around so I am almost ready for the doctor to pronounce it preclampsia at my appointment tomorrow, even though my blood pressure has been stellar the entire time. I’m always prepared for the worst, I suppose.

After the mani/pedi we went up to Baby Gap/Gap Maternity & got a few little items on sale as well as matching blue & pink preemie jammies for Tru & Sawyer to wear home from the hospital if they get to come home right away. They are ADORABLE. I am kind of in love with the little jammies.

Speaking of which- tonight while folding all Hudson’s old clothes I came across his first outfits, which even though he was born at 6 pounds 10 oz were still preemie sized. They look like doll clothes and Scott & I are unsure how we will handle babes even smaller then Hudson was. It’s pretty daunting to think about.

So, tomorrow I have two more doctor appointments & my step-mom is watching the babe so I will have a few hours to continue working on the loft. This pleases me. Hope you are all having a wonderful week & I will check in tomorrow- maybe with more pictures of the nursery.

As I mentioned earlier I was out for much of the day & also: I’ve been busy begging my interwebs pals for votes on TOP BABY BLOGS. Heck I don’t need to be #1 or #2 or even number #10- but I would like to find a comfortable spot on page one for the next 3 months. So, vote if you haven’t. And vote DAILY if you already have.

The little room he’s working on is off our loft and was attic space prior to this little project. The room is very small at approximately 10′x8′, but the loft is connected and has plenty of play area and room to still house my desk/home office.

Yes, we have run a highly functioning legit business for almost six years out of THAT. It’s a wonder I get anything done, to be honest.

Anyways, here’s a few of the more “finished” product- with still much more to come in the next few days.

Hubs built this bookcase under the window & my sister in law Krust made the curtain with fabric from Ikea.

I have spray painted my rocking chair yellow & it just needs a coat more. It’s gonna go to the left of the dresser in the room so it sits “under the tree” I have more work this week, but will most definitely have more pictures before they arrive.
