What just HAPPENED!?
Well, as a testament to the fact that parenthood is FLYING BY- my little guy’s 1st birthday is over as quickly as it began.
AND I DIDN’T GO INTO LABOR! (I figured today was the best chance as the stress level was like at least 3 feet over my head.) Continue reading 'What just HAPPENED!?'»
Since I haven’t shared in a few days:
I am kinda having one of those weeks.

weekend.
My weekend was basically a total whirlwind. And only about 50% of it was good.
Highlights included hanging out with the O’Sullivan- Grant’s on Friday night.
Low points included my husband’s lack of restraint and subsequent “food poisoning” all day Saturday.
Highlights included my little cousin Ryan’s 3rd birthday party filled with family and my favorite- FOOD!
Low points included the hour long drive home from said party in the craziest weather I’ve driven in in quite some time. Scary. Feared for my life.
Low point included taking care of babe alll by myself while husband continued to barf for the entireeeeeeeee night- except for when he went to bed at 7 PM!
You get the point. We had kind of one of those weekends.
Sunday went much better, even if we had to make another hour long drive. We went to visit Scott’s au pair from when he was a kid. (YES! My husband had a nanny. SPOILED!) She and her family live about an hour away and she hadn’t met Hudson yet. We had a very nice visit and after that the night was wonderful as well.
We made pizza with fresh buffalo mozzarella and parsley and basil from our garden and sat by the fire and lit tree while watching “Meet the Natives” on the Travel Channel. I HEART that show.
I tried to ignore my house is OFFICIALLY a complete wreck. I need to clean but having a block of time to complete this is not gonna happen. I seriously need someone to entertain my kid for like 8 hours one day so I can catch up with my life. Go to the store, run to the bank, finish my Christmas shopping, wrap my gifts, do my paperwork, file that paperwork and CLEAN MY HOUSE.
Does Santa deliver servants? Because that’s what this SAHM wants for Christmas.
Thank You doesn’t seem to cover it.
Pictured above is just a small fraction of the hand-me-down clothing (even though like HALF still had tags!) I received in the mail from bloggin’ mama Kerri and her adorable little girl Ella.
If you haven’t yet read her blog, then you really should. She is a photographer which just makes the parenting adventure even more fun!
This was just beyond a sweet gesture and I wanted to take a moment to say:
THANK YOU! You’ve made my day. And Sawyer’s!
I think this is something that is so fun about the community of mom-bloggers I have “met”. Even though we may not know each other in real life- it’s great to know we are all in this same mommy-boat together. Once Truman and Sawyer start growing out of things- I will be offering stuff up for grabs! I hope that at some point our stuff can make another family’s journey just a bit easier on the wallet, like Kerri has done for us.
I appreciate so much the fact that you thought of me to be the recipient of such wonderful clothes!
<3
I’m crying from laughing so hard.
My friend Mario made this and sent it to me. It’s Me, my husband (who looks incredibly baked and has something wrong in the grill area) and my sister-in-laws.
I dunno what to make of it. I kinda love it.
These pictures he used are not only hilarious but like at least 4 or 5 years old.
Black Friday & such.
This morning we decided to drive over the hill to Half Moon Bay to get our tree at Santa’s Tree Farm. It’s probably the biggest tree farm in Half Moon Bay and luckily- it is the closest to us. So, we drove over and spent about an hour walking through the trees and being legitimately SOAKED by the rain-mist. My tissue weight t-shirt was pretty much a joke. Anyways, we finally found a wonderful tree that we could agree on. We paid for that bad boy and drove home. (PS: Since when does it cost $60.00 to cut down your OWN TREE!?) Hudson slept through the entire tree cutting experience so we didn’t get any pics of him at the farm which is sad, but it was also freezing and raining so it’s probably better.

The giant tree on top of the PT. So hilarious that I drive a PT.

The misty rain at the tree farm. So pretty.
Once we got home Scott got it in the stand downstairs in the garage and cut the bottom a bit to even it out. Once he got it upstairs we realized it was about 2 feet too short and about 5 extra feet around. It literally did NOT fit anywhere in our house because it was so big around.
We got it all figured out and the tree is amazing. I love it. A little lopsided and choad-like but full of personality and covered in like 1/2 my ornaments!! YESSS. (I have so many ornaments that the last few trees held maybe a 1/4 of my repertoire.) Pictures will follow. And AGAIN Hudson slept through the entire tree decorating experience! I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t miss out on all the Christmas festivities that way!
In the evening, I joined two of the besties for a Target/Old Navy adventure. I got a few presents out of the way at Target and spent a TON on clothes for the kids at Old Navy. Everything I got was on sale though so it’s allllll good. I think I got 9 items for $65.00. Not bad.
Tomorrow, we have a bunch to do around the house. Hudson is going to stay with his Nonnie & Papa tomorrow/ tomorrow night so I can get stuff done- like listing stuff on ebay!
Then tomorrow night- a holiday party at my friends house. I made a twice baked potato casserole today and tomorrow before the party Scott & I are making jello shots. Too bad I can’t have a few and get trashtastic. Pregnancy wins again!!
I have no idea how I got so lucky.
But somewhere along the lines I must have done something right.
My friends threw me a surprise 20th birthday party almost 7 years ago and it was amazing. I am reallllly intuitive and I think pretty much impossible to surprise. They had this amazing party and I would have been totally surprised had two of my friend’s not left me in a room with the invitation less then an hour before the party. (They were supposed to be the ones to get me there) That was the one fatal mistake- leaving it up to two stoned boys to be in charge of getting me there.
Anyways, fast forward to today. My sister-in-laws Sarah & Krust and my Cousin & her Hubs John threw Scott and I a little surprise baby shower!! It was so sweet of them! And-Yes, I found out a few hours before the party yet again! How do you surprise that who is unsurprisable!? lol. Maybe someday!
I didn’t expect a shower this time around at all since Hudson’s shower was last November and was literally 70+ WOMEN: not even co-ed! People were ridiculously generous to Hudson and we literally got every item we wanted and more. So, this time I figured we were most likely on our own.
Anyhow it was a perfect contrast. Just our very best friends and this time the boys got to come! It was like 15 people which was great because we got to sit around and chat and hang out. Again though- we were totally spoiled and I seriously have no idea what we have done to deserve such love and awesomeness from people.
Thanks to those of you who planned it and to all of you for doing your best to keep me out of the loop. You literally had me until this morning and I think that’s a feat in itself! I love you guys so much and I cannot thank you enough for both this wonderful shower and for attempting yet again to surprise me! (and Scott.)
We have an amazing group of friends. Most of whom we are lucky enough to also be related to. Our family and support system is beyond anything I could have imagined. Learning of this pregnancy was pretty difficult for me to come to terms with and twins was even harder to wrap my head around. Our family and friends have been so helpful to us. From coming over to hold a fussy Hudson while I shower to bringing us lunch or dinner to building a bedroom for my kids with their bare hands for free. We are total charity cases. But so many wonderful people have been there for us to help with time, energy and generous gifts. We really cannot thank you all enough.
I just really love you all.
Lt to right (The besties): Lisa, Me, Stephanie, my sis-in-law Krust, my cousin Laura and my sis-in-law Sarah. LOVE these girls. Voltron for life.
