More than 1/2 way through my 35th week.

And here I am.
Still holding these kiddos up in the uterus. Feeling like I may explode and peeing basically never- unless I’m trying to sleep- because then? I pee every 12 minutes all night long. That’s some bullshit if you ask me, but whatever. Continue reading 'More than 1/2 way through my 35th week.'»

It is abundantly clear that I may lose it.

It’s 10 PM.

I mean, that part is OK. I got the little guy down at about 8:30 after an extra warm baba and some baby tylenol because as I discovered this morning- he has TWO top teeth making their way into his mouth.

In just a few days:

I’s alllll over the news, but HOLY CRAP!

It has been 20 YEARS since the Loma Prieta earthquake. Well, on the 17th anyhow.

I cannot even fathom that it has been 20 years- but looking back- I remember every second of it. One of the scarier days of my life. From the initial quake that left me and my roller skates on our ass- to the millions of aftershocks that scared me to death. My dad having to work all night (he’s a policeman) and my pregnant mom and I staying with my uncle.

I can only hope that next time my family is as fortunate as we were in 1989. Only a few little items broken in our house, no injuries etc.

earthquake-1

Anyhow: It’s hard to believe this happened so long ago. My little brother (who will be twenty in April) wasn’t even ALIVE. I mean, that’s mind boggling.

1989

Earthquakes are the scariest shit ever. I think about them everytime I have to cross the bay or get stuck in slow traffic on an overpass. It’s a real fear. I’m hoping I got my one big earthquake out of the way early. I dunno if I’m ready for the next one. I mean, before 1989- 1906 was the last notable earthquake in the Bay Area. 83 years. I should have 60+ years left earthquake free! Cross your fingerssss.

Stalker.

I think I may need to go up to the Highlands today and look at Eichlers. For some reason I am feeling this urge. Perhaps my millions will be in the mail today and I will be able to buy one!! lol.

Anyhow, I am in love with midcentury modern the way I am in love with Chuck Bass. Me+Chuck Bass+an Eichler in the Highlands= AMAZING.

hahaha.

No, but really. If anyone reads this and is in the area and feels like a trip up the hill let me know. I love house stalking company.

And, if you need schooling on what the highlands are, what Eichlers are or what midcentury is: Please be awesome and check these links.

And also because it is important to your life, you should look at this link even though he is not a midcentury architect, he is my personal hero. Literally.

Today; a day like no other.

It started out well enough.

I woke up at 730 to feed my little guy a baba and get ready for my doctor’s appointment at 915.

I was ready early because I planned to go get Hudson’s shots done while we were at Kaiser, as well as my blood work for my 1st trimester.

But, alas, traffic. I got parked and Hudson in his stroller and put in 75 cents for 1.5 hours of parking.
It was 914. So, I booked it inside and made it to my appointment 5 minutes late. Too bad I waited. and WAITED. and WAITED. 1020 rolls around and they finally take me back for my appointment. My pee sample was like ice already! lol.

Talk to the doctor about my c-section and “fixing” surgery. Got a sonogram which showed both kiddos with heart beats. I was stoked because I have had a huge fear that one would like vanish since my last sonogram. Anyhow- all good news- made a new appointment and got to make my Ultrasound appointment. Too bad the Dr. then says “you also have to go downstairs to make a second appointment because each twin needs their own hour for the ultrasound.” At this point it is 1035 and I am supposed to be 15 minutes away 5 minutes ago!!

I ran to the basement and made the second appointment and booked it out to the car.
I have a freaking parking ticket. $25.00. DAMN ITTTT!

So, I am driving back to San Mateo to meet my grandma and her boyfriend for breakfast and I am already a good 15 minutes late. Then- My car starts to smoke!! I look down and it’s fully in the red overheating.

Being the crazy I am- I just cranked the heater, rolled down the windows and booked it to the restaurant. Parked, bailed Hudson out in case the car exploded- popped that hood and left it in the parking lot to go enjoy breakfast.

After breakfast, I spent the rest of the day with my Grandma. We went and did a bit of shopping and hung out at their hotel. It was really fun and I am so glad we got a chance to spend a few hours together. <3 I even got El Super on the way home. So yummy!

After they dropped Hudson and I off we hung around the house, which I forgot to tell ya’ll is sans power since PG&E were working outside on some power line. 9 AM -5PM no power!!

Luckily, my neighbor friend, also sans power brought her little guy over and we lemented the absence of TV together. Always good times.

Anyhow, I am now catching up on paperwork from my laptop (thanks for Mario’s awesomeness) and about to hit the hay. It was a really really long day for this mama/ mama to beeeee x2!!

Tomorrow: I have like 800 million more feats to accomplish and I am worried I won’t be able to get it all done before Tahoe this weekend.

I still need to get a gift and get outfits for Scott & I to wear!! Crazy times ahead!!
